What is Mind the Menu?
Mind the Menu is a new board game concept that brings a tasty new take on a much beloved childhood staple where players put their memory skills to the test. With an added dash of sabotage this game is sure to spice up family game night!
Each player is a budding chef competing in an exciting cook off competition. Players will need to battle it out and make $10 worth of dishes before any of their competitors. The ingredient pantry is looking slim so hopefully players can remember where all the ingredients are for their dishes. They better hurry before another chef crushes their culinary dreams.
When setting out to create Mind the Menu we really wanted to make a game that everyone around the table would want to play. A game that was fun for all ages. A game that didn't require learning a bunch of rules to get started and wouldn't intimidate casual players. That's why the game has two play modes, a Classic Version and a Kids Version. While there is a Kids Version we can assure you this is not just a game for kids. Testing one's memory and wits is a challenge for everyone.
A lot of people have reached out asking where they can buy this game. Unfortunately, at the moment we only have a prototype copy of Mind the Menu. I was a game tester on Mind the Menu. Aunt Heather is by far my coolest aunt (and yes I wrote this... not her).
What Inspired Mind the Menu?
The idea for Mind the Menu stems from our game designer, Heather's childhood. One of her favorite memories was playing Memory on road trips in her grandparent's camper. She wanted to create a game that her nieces and nephews would have just as much fun playing.
With the beginning of an idea in mind she wanted to give the game a twist that would help it to feel competitive and appealing to older generations as well. So she decided to pair this concept with one of her favorite tv and game genres, cooking competitions. With all of the ingredients in place Mind the Menu was ready to be cooked up.
